The Cissy Stewart Lale Papers

May 2019

In the spring of 2019, I processed the Cissy Stewart Lale Papers as part of my coursework for the Archives II class. Lloyd "Cissy" Stewart Lale was a journalist and society columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Cissy began her career with the publication in 1949 and retired in 1987. For thirty-eight years, Cissy kept her readers informed on fashion trends and cultural news in the Lifestyle section of the FWST. She was a well respected journalist and she dedicated her life to her work.

The Series I finding aid is dedicated to items from Cissy's personal life. The material for this series consists of awards, certificates, personal correspondence, and photographs. The focus of the Series II finding aid is on Cissy's professional achievements and her work. A significant portion of the material found in this series pertains to her work for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram
